Registration Process

SIBLING REGISTRATION 


We are thrilled to hear that you have selected Honoré Mercier as your child(ren)’s elementary school.

Sibling Registration for K4 and K5 January 27- January 31, 2025 will be by appointment.

Please do not confuse this with re-registration (for returning students, grades 1-6) which needs to be done on Mozaik as per the emails sent to you earlier. If you have not re-registered, please do so as soon as possible as the deadline for re-registration was Friday January 24th,  2025.

Important information:

Parents who are interested in registering their child(ren) at Honoré Mercier School need to take an appointment for registration. Please phone the school to take an appointment.

Please bring the following documents with you to the school when you come for your appointment:

  1. The child’s long-form birth certificate, showing both parents’ names.
  2. The original Certificate of Eligibility or Quebec Permanent Code of the parent or sibling who is eligible (we cannot use the photocopy in siblings file)
  3. Proof of Canadian citizenship of the parent or sibling who is eligible. (i.e. birth certificate long version or valid Canadian Passport)
  4. A copy of the “Carnet de Santé” (all pages).
  5. For students born outside of Quebec only, Proof of Quebec residence (lease, driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)

Contact us for information about eligibility and programs. Honoré Mercier registers new students throughout the school year, however, acceptance depends on classroom availability and area of residence.

Please bring the following documents with you to the school when you come for your appointment:
  • Honoré Mercier Registration Form (Please download, print, and complete this form. We encourage parents to complete the registration form before their scheduled appointment).
  • Student Emergency Health Form (Please download, print, and complete this form. We encourage parents to complete the registration form before their scheduled appointment).
  • The Certificate of Eligibility* or Quebec Permanent Code of the parent who is eligible
  • Proof of Canadian citizenship of the parent who is eligible. (i.e. birth certificate long version or valid Canadian Passport)
  • The child’s long-form birth certificate, showing both parents’ names
  • For students born outside of Quebec only, Proof of Quebec residence (lease, driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)
  • A copy of the “Carnet de Santé” (all pages).
If you do not have access to a printer, hard copies will be provided for you to fill out during your appointment time.

In order to qualify for English Instruction in Quebec Public Schools, students must meet certain eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language as set out by the Quebec government.

International Students

Families living Quebec on a temporary basis (work or school visa) may be eligible to send their children to an English public school.

Our Territory

Each elementary school within the EMSB serves the community within it’s boundaries. Children living within these boundaries and their siblings have priority over children living outside of the school boundaries when registering at the school. Students living outside of the school boundaries are not eligible for bussing.
